Weaving from rubber bands on a slingshot

For needlewomen who have chosen rubber band weaving as a hobby, a slingshot is considered one of the most favorite tools. This is partly because it is compact and easy to use. And although it may not be possible to make particularly complex products with it, craftsmen often resort to its help in creating interesting and colorful accessories.

slingshot and rubber bands

What can you weave from rubber bands on a slingshot?

This machine produces products that are quite easy to weave, but on the Internet you can find a lot of original options. This is not only bracelets. With the help of a slingshot you can actually make figurine toys, keychains, weave numbers and letters, animals, flowers, hearts, fruits and vegetables, and much more. Let's take a closer look at a couple of rather interesting options.

Interesting! To create truly unique accessories, use ready-made figures, beads, stones that are woven into the bracelet.

“Scissors” made from rubber bands using a slingshot

This product can become a keychain, hair decoration or brooch, because... looks original and bright. So, to create this masterpiece we will need:

  • slingshot;
  • elastic bands of three colors (my handle color is green, silver, black);
  • hook.

Process:

  1. Place a green cut on the right column, turning it three turns.
  2. Then we will throw on 13 pairs of res. on both columns of the slingshot, weaving sequentially. Throw on the first pair, hook the bottom cut. (which has a triple turn) from the right column to this pair of cuts. (it will appear as if in the middle of the data stretched between the columns of the res.). Then we throw on the second pair of green resins, and hook onto it the elements from the first pair that are below on both sides (they will also be in the center of the second pair).
  3. Continue this way with 13 pairs.
  4. From the left column to the right we transfer the last 13th cuts. (their left ends).
  5. We find the first loop at the beginning of our weaving and throw it on the left column.
  6. Throw in 3 green res. on both posts and drop the cut on them. from right and left art.
  7. We throw a couple of silver res on the slingshot, and throw green res on them.
  8. We throw the cut. from the left st. to the right. One of the scissor handles is ready.
  9. We will weave the second one using the same technology, but we will use 11 pairs of green threads. instead of 13. We start by scrolling the green cut three times. around the left column.
  10. After all the manipulations on the right st. there will be a pair of silver cut folded in half. from the first handle and a couple of cuts. from the second on both columns. We transfer the latter to the left column.
  11. We grab the top pair of cuts. from the right column with a crochet hook, from the left we transfer the top pair to the right stitch. We throw the parts on the hook onto the right column, i.e. on the right column there are already three pairs of elements (well, sort of ends).
  12. We throw on three silver resins, throw all the details from both columns onto them.
  13. We throw on three silver ones and transfer the elements from below to them. Then we do the same with 2 more triples of silver cut. After that we do it with 2 pairs.
  14. We take 1 res. place the silver one over both columns, turning it two turns. We throw the lower parts onto it.
  15. We throw on another silver one and transfer the lower ones to it. Throw it over the hook and tighten the loop. The scissors are almost ready. All that remains is to straighten them and make a black bolt in the middle.

We put a black elastic band on the right column and scroll it 5 turns. Throw on 1 silver cut, throw off the bottom black ones. We remove the silver one on the hook, tighten the loop and pull it through the scissors just above the junction of the silver and green cuts. Hide the ends of all protruding elements with a hook.

This type of creativity is accessible to everyone: both in material terms and in the relative simplicity of the work process. Young craftswomen can weave a lot of unique bracelets, while older ones can unwind while working on keychains or figurines. Time flies when working on these bright and fun products, and the result is sure to please you.
