Sew a shark with your own hands: pattern, diagrams and description

All kids love sharks. They consider them strong, freedom-loving and at the same time terrible predators of the underwater world. The shark toy is not like that. She poses no danger. Kids love to hug these toys, hold them close, and tell them about their sorrows and joys.

In this article we will look at how to sew a toy shark, the pattern of which is given below.

Sew a toy shark with your own hands

Let's look at how to sew a toy shark from fabric. The fabric shark pattern is quite simple; sewing it is not difficult.

What to cook:

  • White material for sewing parts of the shark’s upper jaw, fins (2 lower parts) and belly;
  • Fabric of dark gray or black color - for the upper fin, the main part of the body and the 2 upper parts of the fins;
  • Burgundy fabric for the shark's mouth;
  • Sintepon for filling the toy.

Shark pattern – soft toy, consists of 5 parts:

  • 2 parts of the main body;
  • 2 parts of the upper fin;
  • 4 elements of side fins (2 white + 2 black);
  • 1st part of the upper jaw;
  • 1st mouth element;
  • 2 elements of the abdomen.

You can make the toy any size - from a small one to a shark the full height of a child.

If you need a large shark, the pattern is simply proportionally increased to the size you need. The manufacturing procedure remains the same.

Fabric shark: master class

  1. We transfer the paper pattern to the material and cut out the parts, adding seam allowances from 0.5 to 1 cm, depending on the size of the future craft.
  2. We sew darts on the elements of the abdomen and the main part of the body.
  3. We sew together two parts of the tummy, leaving a small hole for stuffing with padding polyester.
  4. Folding the fabric face to face, we sew together the two side fins, making the top part dark and the bottom white. We turn the elements inside out.
  5. We assemble the elements of the mouth and upper jaw.
  6. We sew together the details of the mouth and belly.
  7. Sew the upper fin to the body.
  8. We sew together the details of the main body and tail along the dorsal line.
  9. We sew the finished fins located on the sides of the shark to the main body. If the toy is large, fill them with padding polyester.
  10. We connect the stomach with the main body.
  11. We turn the finished toy inside out and stuff it with padding polyester.
  12. Sew up the hole.
  13. Sew on the eyes.

The beautiful shark is ready.

Felt shark toy

A shark toy can be sewn from felt. It is small - length 10 centimeters. Don't forget to add seam allowances. For this you will need:

  • Pattern;
  • Blue felt fabric;
  • White felt fabric;
  • Sintepon;
  • 2 beads for eyes.

Progress:

  1. We make a pattern and, placing it on felt fabric, redraw the details. The number of elements is always indicated on the pattern.In our case, the shark has only three elements: the main body – 2 parts (white and blue). Fins of 2 options – 2 parts of each.
  2. Sew on the white belly details.
  3. We attach the eyes.
  4. We embroider the mouth and teeth with black thread.
  5. We sew the halves of the toy together and fill it with padding polyester.

If you want to sew a shark costume for your child with your own hands, this is quite possible. Let's consider a simple version of such a suit. It will be based on a gray hoodie with a hood. This is sure to be in every kid's wardrobe. The costume will be created by adding “shark” elements to the jacket.

Let's get started. What you need to prepare:

  • Hoodie;
  • Pieces of black, white and gray felt;

The execution procedure is simple:

  1. Cut out the dorsal fin from gray felt fabric. We take the form “by eye”;
  2. We cut out a large oblong tummy from white felt;
  3. A strip with teeth that act as teeth - made of white felt;
  4. We make 2 black circles of eyes from black felt fabric.

This version of the shark, obtained by adding ready-made clothes, will greatly save your time and bring joy to your child.

It will look very original and fully support the theme of the holiday. But it’s not worth sewing complex, sophisticated costumes for children’s carnivals. These are clothes for one day. Next year the suit will be small.

This option is what you need.
