How to sew a Minnie Mouse costume for a girl with your own hands

Creating a cartoon image is not at all difficult. In order to turn your child into a funny hero, you should follow just a few steps:

  1. Any black or white, plain T-shirt will be suitable as the top part of the suit.
  2. From red tulle we sew a fluffy skirt. The ideal length of the product is slightly above the knee. The amount of fabric is selected depending on the age and measurements of the child. Cut the tulle into strips. The length of the stripes is twice the length of the skirt. After the strip, fold it in half and sew it to a thick elastic band. Rthe rubber belt must be sewn firstO.
  3. Cut out ten or more circles from white paper. To make the circles even, it is better to use a stencil. Take a glass or glass, draw a circle and follow the pattern to make all the other circles. The edges should be smooth.
  4. These circles will be our peas. Using a glue gun, apply glue around the circumference of each pea. Press the paper tightly against the material and hold for half a minute so that the glue sets. It is important to correctly distribute the peas along the skirt so that there is no accumulation in certain places. They should be spread evenly.
  5. We will make Mickey's paws from white gloves. To create the most realistic costume possible, we apply three longitudinal lines to the outside of the glove. A marker or felt-tip pen is suitable for this. The length of the gloves is up to the wrist. It was the three stripes on the back of the hand that distinguished Minnie Mouse in the animated series.
  6. Black leggings are best suited for a child's legs. They are much more comfortable than tights, stretch well and fit under a skirt.
  7. In the cartoon, Mickey has yellow legs. To ensure that the image fully matches the original, we will choose yellow shoes for the baby. These could be ballet flats, slippers or low-heeled shoes. It all depends on the age of the child. Advice: the main thing is that the shoes are comfortable.

DIY Minnie Mouse costume for a girl - how to knit ears on a hat

If you want to add originality to your costume, then instead of standard store-bought ears or homemade paper options, you can knit them. With such ears, any hat will become themed. Moreover, it is not necessary to sew them firmly into the hat. You can simply attach it with a couple of stitches by hand, and tear it off at the end of the holiday. We will need a hook and black thread. Knitting ears step by step:

  • Nwe take off the seven inner loops, connect them into a circle, and knit seven rows into it without throwing over. For each loop - one addition, we get fourteen loops. In each row we continue to add evenly. Initially we act through one column, then through two columns and so onm up to eight rows of 56 columns.
  • U We have two ears, for each we make three parts, in total we need to make six pieces. A triple layer is necessary to increase rigidity. Ears should be held straight and not bent.
  • WITHwe pick three circles, tie them together, moving around the circumference in columns without draping. We do not knit the last ten loops together - here the ears will be attached to the headdress.
  • ZWe attach the ears to the hat. We sew each circle separately. We move them apart a little before sewing them in. This will further increase the stability of the Minnie Mouse ears.

Such a hat will look cute not only as part of a carnival costume, but also as an outfit for a walk in the cold season. Just two knitted ears can turn an ordinary headdress into a funny children's hat.
