How to make eggs from felt - patterns

Before you make an egg from felt with your own hands, you need to draw up a pattern. The procedure is quite simple, let's look at it step by step:

  • We draw a coordinate system - a horizontal line intersecting in the center with a vertical segment. The length of the lines is nineteen centimeters.
  • We draw two circles. The radius of the first is one and a half centimeters, the second is five centimeters.
  • Place green dots at the ends of the horizontal lines and in the center.
  • Draw an arcuate line from the green mark at the end of the horizontal segment through the central green mark. The length of the arc is nine centimeters.
  • Similarly, we draw arc-shaped segments from all end points. It is convenient to use a compass.
  • Using an eraser, erase the segments that protrude beyond the perimeter of the larger circle.
  • Place yellow dots at the intersection of the arc and the circle. Draw a segment connecting two yellow marks along the radius of the circle.
  • The segment acts as a radius; through it we draw arcs of yellow marks on each side. We act by analogy with segments in each part of the coordinate system.
  • We leave a pattern shaped like a flower with four petals, erase unnecessary parts of the lines with an eraser.
  • Add a seam allowance of five millimeters and outline the main contours with a thick marker. This completes the work with the pattern. The workpiece is transferred to the material.

First you need to redraw the pattern onto felt and cut out the parts. Then fold the workpiece in half, right side inward. We manually fasten the starting and ending sides of the arcuate line.We run a fine machine stitch along the basting seam. We do not sew about three centimeters in the central part. Progress of further work:

  • Fold the opposite sides to sew in the same way.
  • Again leave a gap of four centimeters in the center.
  • We use the hole to turn the product inside out. Fill the egg with filler through it. This could be padding polyester, cotton wool or other material.
  • Sew up the gap. On the blunt side, the material remains solid, there are no seams. All that remains is to decorate the product. For this you can use beads, seed beads, embroidery, rhinestones and other decorative elements.
