Every girl has a skirt in her closet that is out of fashion or doesn't fit. It’s a shame to throw away a product; it awaits better times, taking up extra space. If the skirt is long or wide, it is not only a piece of clothing, but also a fabric from which you can sew the desired item. Much depends on the type of material:

  • Denim product. Will be an excellent source of fabric for a fashionable bag. You can make a beautiful wallet out of it. If the skirt is long, there may be enough material for a short vest.
  • Print skirt. A long model will make an excellent summer sundress above the knees. Make the straps from a different material, choose a belt, insert an elastic band at the waist and the sundress is ready.
  • Satin. An excellent basis for a new blouse or T-shirt. The material is suitable for hot and warm weather. Satin can also serve as a lining when sewing other products.

Making a blouse from a skirt is quite simple. The main thing is that the style of the skirt requires a sufficient amount of material. Consider the option of transforming an old circle skirt into an original blouse. All you need for the job is a skirt, a needle, thread, a sewing machine and scissors. The process consists of the following steps:

  1. Lay out the boring skirt on a flat surface and smooth out the material.
  2. We cut off the belt from the skirt with scissors.
  3. We straighten the fabric again. A pattern is not necessary here, just attach a T-shirt that fits the size to the skirt. Place the product on the left side of the material and smooth it out thoroughly.
  4. We outline the armholes of the sleeves and half of the neck with a pencil.
  5. We shift the T-shirt to the right side of the material, repeat similar steps on the right side - trace the contours of the product with a pencil.
  6. We finish drawing the neck after removing the sample.
  7. Using scissors, we cut off the excess details outlined in pencil on the skirt.
  8. When cutting out the neckline on the front, make the neckline deeper.
  9. We process the armhole and neckline. Fold the material in half a centimeter. We fix it with pins and baste it. Then we go over the seams with the machine and remove the threads from the rough seam. A tacking seam cannot be left.
  10. On the shoulders, step back a centimeter from the edge and sew down the shoulder seams.
  11. If the skirt is a single color, the product can be further decorated. Embroidery, rhinestones, applique are suitable. The blouse will look good with a matching belt. A simple way to add charm to a product is an original yoke or a stylish zipper on the back.

From a long skirt you can sew a blouse with short sleeves. The principle of operation is the same as described earlier. Separately, two sleeves of the desired length are cut out from the remaining material. We cut them out and sew them to the T-shirt from the wrong side.Afterwards we sew the shoulders together with the sleeves and trim off the excess material at the seams. The bottom of the sleeves should be pre-processed by tucking and stitching along the edge. The seam is made one centimeter from the edge. The blouse can be complemented with a chest pocket of a different color.
