Couture knitting is a special type of knitting. Knitted items from haute couture amaze with their originality. And this is no coincidence, because famous designers are very talented, creative people and every thing that comes out of their hands is a real masterpiece.
Knitted couture dresses are extremely beautiful. Couture knitted coats, bags, skirts and even shoes - everything looks unforgettable.
Having looked through and studied haute couture knitted models, you inevitably want to try to repeat something from what you saw.
In this article we will present catwalk couture knitting with patterns and show you a master class of such knitting.
Let's look at a very original yellow jacket with a zipper. The zipper is sewn into the placket at the front; the neckline, bottom of the product and sleeve cuffs are with elastic bands.
The product is knitted and crocheted.
This model is suitable for sizes 36–38. The length of our jacket is 62 cm.
What you need for work:
- Knitting needles 3.5-4;
- Hook 4-4.5;
- Snake – 50 cm;
- Yellow yarn – 700 g.

- We make a plank.The pattern is as follows - alternating 1 knit stitch + 1 purl stitch.
- The main fabric of the jacket is knitted like this:
- We cast on loops, the number of which is divisible by 5 + 3. We knit according to the pattern once from rows 1-3. Then repeat rows 2 and 3. The first or third row is the purl rows.
- How to decrease stitches:
- Starting the row after the chain stitch and ending the row before the chain chain, knit 2 double crochets together.
- If you need to decrease two loops, starting the row after and ending before the chain loop, knit 3 double crochets together.
- How to add loops:
- Starting and ending a row - knit two double crochets.
- Basic crochet stitch – 22 stitches x 12 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
- We knit the back:
- We cast on 103 loops for the strap and knit 7 cm in stitch for the strap. We close the loops. We continue to knit 103 loops of the main pattern on closed loops;
- Having reached a height of 35 cm (armholes), we do not knit 1x5 loops on both sides - 93 loops. In each row we decrease 5 x 1 loop - 83 loops.
- When the height reaches 59 cm, and the armholes reach 17, leave 29 middle loops unknitted for the neckline.
- For rounding - decrease 3 x 1 stitches in each row - 24 shoulder loops.
- Having reached a height of 62 cm, close the back.
- We knit the left front:
- We cast on 53 loops and knit 7 cm with knitting for the strap, close. Using the main knitting method using a hook on closed loops, we continue to knit 53 loops.
- We make an armhole on the right side.
- Having reached a height of 53 cm, do not knit 10 stitches on the left side; for the cutout, we decrease in each row. 2 x 2 sts and 5 x 1 sts – 24 shoulder loops.
- We close the shelf at 62 cm.
- The right front is knitted symmetrically to the left.
- Sleeves:
- Cast on 58 stitches, knit 7 cm in stitch for the placket, and close.
- The main crochet pattern is 58 stitches on closed loops.
- For notches on 2 sides, add 10 x 1 stitches in every 4th row - 78 stitches.
- When you reach 39 cm on each side, remove 2 x 2, 13 x 1 p., 2 x 2 p. in each row.
- When the height of the rim is 17 cm, it’s ready.
- Assembling the product:
- Sew the shoulders, insert the sleeves, sew the sides and seams of the sleeves.
- We tie the front edges of the shelves with the strap with 2 rows of single crochets.
- Knitting a double collar:
- We cast on 73 loops - knit with knitting for the strap. To obtain bevels - on 2 sides in every second row we add 12 x 2 stitches - 121 loops.
- Knit 4 rows without adding, decrease 12 x 2 loops in each 12th row. Close off the remaining 73 stitches.
- Fold the collar in half and sew it to the neckline.
- Sew on the zipper.
