Openwork elastic band with knitting needles: diagrams and description

To create elastic and very interesting fabrics, different versions of openwork elastic bands are used. These are voluminous and airy patterns that allow you to preserve the appearance of the product for a long time, because after stretching the item easily returns to its original shape.

"Rings"

The pattern looks great both as elastic on the cuffs and as the main fabric. His rapport is 4 loops and 4 rows. You should cast on a number of loops that are a multiple of 4 + 1 and 2 edge stitches.

  1. In the first row, remove the edge stitch, knit 2 purl + 1 knit + 1 yarn over + 1 knit.
  2. We finish the row with two purls for symmetry, we also knit the last edge with a purl.
  3. The second row is purl, remove the first edge, knit 2 (for symmetry), then purl 3 rapport (including yarn over) + knit 2.
  4. We knit this way until the end of the row, purl the last edge stitch.
  5. Third row - we remove the first edge, 2 purl + 3 knit + the first of the knitted knits we throw over the next two knits and pull them through it.
  6. We knit rapport to the end of the row, finish with purl stitches for symmetry, and also purl the last edge stitch.
  7. Fourth - remove the first edge, knit 2 (for symmetry), repeat - knit 2 + purl 2.
  8. We knit to the end, then knitting is repeated from rows 1 to 4 until the end of the fabric.

Useful tips

If you don't know what you can knit using these patterns, I can give you some advice.

  • The elastic band “Rings” looks great on socks: it is not very “holey”, but it looks unusual and, due to its high relief, helps to retain heat.
  • If you want such an openwork item to remain warm, choose yarn with angora for knitting. Then after the WTO the thread will fluff up and slightly cover the holes from the yarn overs.
  • To make the openwork more expressive (for example, for summer cotton items), take thick knitting needles.

Openwork elastic looks very unusual and is often not too difficult to knit. Having learned a simple scheme, you can diversify your Knitten things and completely attract the attention of others with an interesting type of product.
