Each person strives to demonstrate his individuality and self-expression. This desire manifests itself in creating unique things, such as home decor. One of the ways to create it is crocheting. Knitted items give the home additional coziness and create a special atmosphere.
Knitted furniture
A pouf is not just a piece of furniture. It is a full-fledged piece of furniture and can take place in any room. Crocheting it is quite simple.
Necessary materials:
- Hook No. 10;
- Thick acrylic yarn – 800 g.
Knitting process
Depending on the desired result, you can use one or more colors of yarn. The ottoman can be plain, as in this version, or consist of 6 colors. For the second option, you will need to take 5 colors of 100 g and 300 g of another color.
First you need to cast on 5 air loops and close them with a connecting post into a ring. The next rows are knitted in single crochet stitches. In each row, add 1 column evenly.
Having reached the middle, knit 5-6 rows without increments, depending on the desired size of the ottoman. If you are planning a multi-colored pouf, then these rows need to be knitted in the main color. In the next rows and until the end of knitting, you need to decrease 1 column at a time.
Without tying to the end, you need to leave a small hole. Through it you need to fill the pouf with filler. At the end, tighten the remaining 6 loops with thread. The ottoman is ready!
Crochet floor mat
A knitted rug can liven up any interior. It can be of any shape: round, oval, rectangular. The color palette is limited only by desire and the selected threads. The materials can also be different: regular yarn, strands of plastic bags, etc.
For a fluffy rectangular rug you will need:
- Wool blend yarn (250 m / 100 g).
- Hook No. 4.
- A ruler or a thick knitting needle.
To start knitting, cast on a chain of air loops so that it is equal to the desired length of the finished rug. Next, knit one row with single crochets.
The next row will consist of elongated loops. To do this, grab the loop of the previous row, throw the working thread onto a knitting needle or ruler, hook the thread on both sides and pull it out of the loop of the bottom row. To secure the loop, knit all 3 threads together.
Next, continue alternating rows of single crochets and elongated loops until the rug reaches the desired size. If you want a multi-colored rug, you can knit squares of different colors and then connect them together.
Plaid
The voluminous blanket has become incredibly popular. It is associated with warmth and comfort. You want to wrap yourself up in it on a cold evening with a cup of hot tea or cocoa.
The simplest and most common option is a blanket made of rectangular motifs. The color range is not limited to a single color option. The main advantage of such a blanket: it can be knitted from leftover yarn.
Operating procedure:
- Cast on 6 chain stitches and at the end knit a connecting stitch.
- Cast on 3 chain stitches, knit two double crochets, 2 chain stitches and then 3 more double crochets. Repeat 2 more times and complete the row with a connecting stitch.
- Cast on 3 chain stitches, knit two double crochets, make two chain stitches and knit three double crochets into the arch of the previous row. Continue to the end of the row.
The next rows are knitted similarly. Continue knitting until the motif reaches the desired size. The number of motifs depends on how large the blanket you want to get.
When all the motifs are connected, they need to be connected by stitching with a needle and thread or crocheted. Connection options are shown in the photo.
This blanket is knitted simply and quite quickly. It will definitely add zest to the interior.
