Knitted slippers are not only beautiful, but also warm shoes. The legs do not feel discomfort in them. The most famous version of slippers is from the “Granny Square” motifs, crocheted. However, you can knit quite a few beautiful options using knitting needles.
Types of slippers:
- Classic (footprints). When knitting them, circular rows are used. Another option for making them: knit and sew two parts. At the bottom of these slippers a finished sole is sewn.
- Shoes. This is a more sleek and elegant option.
- Boots are the highest slippers.
- Socks. They are also tall and would be a great shoe idea for winter evenings.
Slippers with openwork pattern
To work you will need:
- Yarn;
- Knitting needles No. 2;
- Hook.
Advice: Yarn should be selected based on what time of year the slippers are intended for. So, for the cold period you should give preference to wool, and for summer and spring, choose threads made of linen or cotton.
The size of the finished product is 35-38.

On the edge loops, cast on 22 loops and knit LP. Knit a new row according to the following pattern: 1 CP, 8 LP, 22 IP, cast on another 22 loops on the edges and knit them PI. Persons rows: 1 KP, 8 IP, 43 LP, 1 KP. Out. rows: 1 KP, 8 LP, 43 IP, 1 KP.
Alternate the described two rows until the slippers reach the desired length. In this case - 30 rows.
Heel

*slip the first loop, 9 IP, 2 as 1 IP, turn the work over, throw the loop onto another knitting needle, 9 LP, 2 as 1 LP*.

Slippers with braid
To work you will need:
- Yarn (150 m/50 g);
- Knitting needles No. 3.5;
- Hook.
The size of the finished product is 36-38.
Progress
Start knitting by casting on 51 stitches. Knit the first 4 rows completely.
Starting from the 5th row, select the middle 11 loops and knit a braid on them, according to the diagram. If desired, the pattern can be replaced with any one you like. It is important that it matches the number of loops.
In the 27th row, decrease 2 loops on each side.
Sole
While knitting the sole, turn the work at the end of each row.
1 rub. – 1 CP, 43 LP, 2 knit IP together.
Row 2 and all subsequent ones - 1 CP, 11 LP/IP. Alternate LP and IP in rows.
Continue decreasing until there are 13 stitches left on the knitting needles.
Cast on 13 loops from the sides and continue working.
At the end, bind off all the loops. Crochet the finished slippers with 1 row of sc.
Recommendation! If you want your knitted slippers to last longer, you can sew a finished sole onto them. It will be more durable and will provide additional warmth in winter.
